this might have been Saturday 11th July 2020, not the 13th. Either way, retrictions lifted at the last moment but we were going to be ready whatever it took ... the show must go on!

This was the first of several should-have-been-first-day-of-Brexit days, if I remember rightly.
Here are many quartertones, accompanying a fairly timeless story, presented, with my implicit consent, in a very Christian tradition.
If I remember rightly, Antony dipped experimentally into quartertonic harmony as part of our efforts to assimilate a culture we did not know.
We tried our best to look beyond our own notes, and the prism of the cultures that we knew at the time, to see and hear a cultural language that wasn't ours.

In Easter 2007, after a week spent soaking up the sounds of Old City Jerusalem for the first time, my brain needed some time to process it all. This little improvisation was my instinctive response to calls to prayer, sirens, street traders, religious squawkers, and goodness knows what else...
