I scrape boxes and make noises in big rooms in front of lots of people.

Improvisation: Old City (2007)
In Easter 2007, after a week spent soaking up the sounds of Old City Jerusalem for the first time, my brain needed some time to process it all. This little improvisation was my instinctive response to calls to prayer, sirens, street traders, religious squawkers, and goodness knows what else...
The Violin Player (2005)
The original recording of 'The Violin Player' by THJ. The most bittersweet piece I know. Recorded at the Riverfront Theatre in Newport (Wales) before a Live Music Now concert, sometime in ?2005.
Menuet 1 and 2 (1988)
Early Box Scraping Tendencies. In the late 1980s I had my own personal assistant who would place the bow on the string for me at the start of performances. Tone quality? Haha. My grandparents evidently had a very 1970s taste in home furnishings. I remember that shagpile carpet as if it was yesterday.
